    Rheology modifier for hard surface cleaners. Add the emulsion slowly to the solution with good agitation, preferably as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Dilution of the ALCOGUM SL 117 with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/or alkaline formulations. Optimum viscosity build occurs at or above pH 8. For consistent performance avoid partial neutralization and poor mixing. 0.219 parts Ammonium Hydroxide (28%) to 1.0 part ALCOGUM SL 117 (as received) 0.130 part Sodium Hydroxide (50%) to 1.0 part ALCOGUM SL 117 (as received).

ALCOGUM® SL 117 is an acrylate-based emulsion copolymer supplied at 30% active solids in water. This product is part of a unique line of hydrophobically modified, alkali soluble emulsion polymers typically referred to as HASE thickeners. The process employed in the manufacture of ALCOGUM® SL 117 allows for fine control of the polymer structure and molecular weight to provide optimized performance in a broad range of application areas. Such applications include adhesive and textile compounding, paint formulation, detergent and cleaning compositions, construction compounding, latex coatings, pigment mining, and particulate suspension.
